- New lighting system to debut during Eid Al Etihad celebrations
- Marks the lead-up to the 15th anniversary celebrations
Emaar Properties has revealed an extraordinary lighting upgrade for the Burj Khalifa. The state-of-the-art RGBW system combines cutting-edge technology with timeless architectural design, with its first display planned for the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations on 1 December 2024. This event also marks the countdown to the tower’s 15th anniversary on 4 January 2025.
The lighting upgrade transforms the iconic façade with a broad spectrum of colours and dynamic effects, delivering a captivating visual experience that reaffirms Dubai’s global leadership in design and technological innovation.
Six months of rigorous testing ensured the flawless integration of the RGBW system. This advanced technology replaces static lights with addressable, colour-changing fixtures capable of creating intricate displays for both daily use and festive celebrations. These effects blend seamlessly with the Burj Khalifa’s media screen while maintaining its world-famous aesthetic.
Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director of Emaar Properties, stated: “Burj Khalifa has always stood as a beacon of what is possible when vision meets innovation. This lighting overhaul is a testament to our continuous pursuit of excellence and a tribute to the UAE’s spirit of progress. As we unveil this stunning upgrade during Eid Al Etihad celebrations and approach the tower’s 15th anniversary, this transformation marks a new chapter in its legacy, reaffirming Dubai as a city of boundless ambition.”
By merging technology with artistic expression, this project sets a new global standard for architectural lighting and serves as inspiration for future developments worldwide.
