Leadership Transition Signals New Era for Social Impact Platform

Benevity, Inc., a global leader in social impact software, has announced the appointment of Christopher Maloof as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 3 September 2024. This strategic leadership change marks a significant milestone as Benevity enters a new chapter of growth and innovation in its role as the world’s foremost enterprise impact platform.

    Leadership Transition

Christopher Maloof takes over from Kelly Schmitt, who is concluding her impactful six-year leadership at the company. Under Schmitt’s leadership, Benevity achieved remarkable milestones, including surpassing $15 billion in charitable donations and achieving a $1 billion valuation. Her tenure also saw the company attain profitability while maintaining a leading position in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and employee engagement sectors. Schmitt’s strategic vision and leadership were instrumental in assembling a top-tier executive team and supporting numerous global corporations in enhancing their social impact efforts.

Reflecting on her time at Benevity, Kelly Schmitt stated: “Leading Benevity has been one of the greatest honours of my career. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together, from establishing Benevity as a leading force in social impact to helping our clients drive meaningful change. I am confident that Chris Maloof, with his proven track record of accelerating growth and scaling operations, is the ideal person to guide Benevity through this exciting next phase.”

    Christopher Maloof’s Background and Vision

Christopher Maloof brings extensive experience in product development, strategic business management, and leading large-scale SaaS enterprises to his new role. His previous role as President and Chief Product Officer at MeridianLink involved significant contributions to democratizing financial access within local communities. Maloof was pivotal in launching new products, expanding MeridianLink’s customer base, and driving strategic acquisitions, which ultimately led to the company’s successful IPO.

Maloof expressed his enthusiasm for joining Benevity: “It is a tremendous opportunity to join Benevity at such a pivotal moment. The company’s strong foundation and deep commitment to social impact offer a remarkable platform for continued growth. I am eager to work with our clients, partners, and the entire Benevity team to advance our mission and amplify our impact globally.”

Support from Benevity’s Founder and Board

Bryan de Lottinville, founder and Board member of Benevity, endorsed Maloof’s appointment: “Chris’s extensive background in leading high-growth organisations and his alignment with Benevity’s mission make him an exceptional choice for our next CEO. His experience and understanding of purpose-driven organisations will be crucial as we continue to expand our impact and set new standards in the social impact sector. I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Kelly Schmitt for her outstanding leadership and dedication over the past six years.”

With Christopher Maloof at the helm, Benevity is well-positioned to further refine its position as a leader in social impact solutions. The company aims to advance its enterprise impact platform strategy and continue to set the benchmark for CSR and engagement solutions on a global scale. Benevity’s commitment to driving positive social change and fostering impactful corporate responsibility remains at the core of its mission.
