E.ON is excited to announce that applications are now open for its latest degree apprenticeship programmes. These unique opportunities allow participants to earn a fully funded university degree, gain valuable on-the-job experience, and receive a competitive salary, all while contributing to a sustainable future.

A Diverse Range of Programmes on Offer

The degree apprenticeships span seven disciplines, including Digital Technology, Project Management, and Electro-Mechanical Engineering. Based in Nottingham, these programmes offer a well-structured path to rewarding careers, blending academic studies with practical work experience across the business.

    The seven programmes available are:

    • Data Scientist
    • Digital Marketing
    • Project Management
    • Digital Technology
    • Electro-Mechanical Engineering
    • Control Systems Engineering
    • Accountancy & Taxation Professional

Apprentices will undertake a four- or five-year journey, featuring multiple placements tailored to align with their university studies. These roles are designed to address the growing demand for sustainability-focused skills and prepare participants for leadership roles in the energy transition.

Addressing the Demand for Green Skills

E.ON’s recent research reveals that more than half (52%) of individuals want to work for organisations committed to creating a greener future. Additionally, 49% are keen to acquire the skills necessary for thriving in a sustainable world. E.ON’s degree apprenticeship programmes address these aspirations by equipping apprentices with the practical knowledge and expertise required to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s energy sector.

Sarah Farmer, Director of Organisational Development & Engagement at E.ON, emphasised the programme’s significance: “Degree apprenticeships are an exceptional opportunity for individuals exploring their career options after school or seeking a change in direction. Our apprentices not only develop the skills to succeed in a more sustainable and greener future, but they also build valuable professional networks and earn a university degree, fully funded by E.ON.

“These programmes are designed to empower people with practical skills that businesses need now and in the years ahead, enabling them to build meaningful careers aligned with their goals. I strongly encourage anyone interested to explore these fantastic opportunities.”

    Success Stories from E.ON’s Apprenticeships

Graduates of E.ON’s apprenticeship programmes have gone on to achieve remarkable success. Imogen Chippendale, who completed the Future Leaders Degree Apprenticeship, now works as a Campaign Manager at E.ON Next. Reflecting on her experience, she said: “Joining E.ON’s Business Degree Apprenticeship was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The energy industry is an exciting place to be, especially as we move towards a sustainable future. My apprenticeship helped me discover a passion for marketing, which has led me to my dream role as a Campaign Manager.”

    Why Choose E.ON?

Recognised as the UK’s top apprenticeship employer in the energy and utilities sector by the latest Rate My Apprenticeship rankings, E.ON continues to lead the way in nurturing talent. With a strong focus on sustainability and skill development, E.ON offers apprentices a unique opportunity to shape their future while contributing to the global energy transition.

Applications are now open, and aspiring candidates are encouraged to seize this chance to gain skills, experience, and a degree while making a positive impact.
