As Saudi Arabia continues its remarkable journey toward becoming a premier global investment hub, the Kingdom is set to attract even more entrepreneurs from around the world. These visionary leaders are coming to forge impactful partnerships, drive innovation, and launch enterprises that focus on the future. In a significant step toward cementing its reputation as a home for innovation-led entrepreneurship, Riyadh will host the final rounds of the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC), one of the largest and most comprehensive pitch competitions globally.
Prestigious Platform for Global Startups
The final rounds of the competition will unfold during Biban Forum 24, the Kingdom’s flagship event dedicated to startups, entrepreneurship, and SMEs. This fiercely competitive tournament will see promising startups from 151 countries battling it out for the chance to win a share of the $1 million cash prize. But the rewards extend beyond financial gain; participants will also gain crucial access to start-up and scale-up capital, connections with key industry leaders, valuable mentorship, and cutting-edge ideas that could shape the future of their businesses.
A Springboard for the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
Set against the dynamic backdrop of Biban Forum 24, the EWC will serve as a powerful launchpad for the next generation of investors and entrepreneurs. This year’s Biban Forum, scheduled to take place at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center from 5th to 9th November 2024, will focus on the theme of “Global Destination for Opportunities.” The pitch competition will highlight the creativity, ingenuity, and inventiveness of tomorrow’s business leaders, in keeping with the innovative spirit of the event.
A Legacy of Empowering Entrepreneurs Worldwide
Building on Past Achievements
The EWC Global Finals held last year at Biban Forum 23 were a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia’s entrepreneurial journey. A total of 100 innovative startups from 53 countries went head-to-head in a high-stakes competition. Notably, WhiteHelmet, a Saudi-based startup, made history as the first Saudi company to win the EWC grand prize, walking away with a substantial cash award of $300,000. This victory was a testament to the growing strength of Saudi entrepreneurship on the global stage.
Supporting the Future of Global Entrepreneurship
Sami Ibrahim Alhussaini, Governor of the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at), shared his excitement about the event’s return to Riyadh. He stated, “We are immensely proud to once again host the Entrepreneurship World Cup in Riyadh. Entrepreneurship is the backbone of our economy, and we are committed to driving positive change, not only within Saudi Arabia but also across the globe. By providing future business leaders and entrepreneurs with essential resources, we aspire to create a more thriving future for all.
