    Mary Kay Inc., a global leader in beauty and entrepreneurship, has appointed Dr. Lucy Gildea as its new Chief Brand and Scientific Officer. This strategic move aims to accelerate the company’s brand presence and scientific advancements across more than 40 international markets.

    In her expanded role, Gildea will lead a newly structured Global Brand and Science organisation, integrating brand identity, product innovation, and consumer engagement strategies. Her team will focus on delivering consistent brand messaging and an impactful product portfolio, ensuring Mary Kay remains at the forefront of beauty and skincare innovation.

    A Vision for the Future

    Gildea and her team will drive initiatives that strengthen brand storytelling, harness the potential of next-generation entrepreneurs, and deepen customer connections. The goal is to enhance customer loyalty by aligning Mary Kay’s scientific advancements with evolving beauty trends.

    “With her extensive expertise in science, innovation, and consumer engagement, Lucy will play a pivotal role in shaping the next chapter of our growth. The integration of brand and science will reinforce our commitment to quality, empowering our Independent Beauty Consultants to offer a truly transformative experience,” said Ryan Rogers, CEO of Mary Kay and grandson of founder Mary Kay Ash.

    A Legacy of Scientific and Brand Leadership

    Since joining Mary Kay in 2017, Gildea has spearheaded groundbreaking product innovations while streamlining organisational efficiencies. Her leadership has been instrumental in modernising Mary Kay’s approach to skincare and cosmetics, ensuring the company remains competitive in a dynamic market.

    Prior to Mary Kay, she spent 15 years at Procter & Gamble, leading beauty technology and skincare product development. Her experience also extends to measurement sciences, healthcare, and personal care industries. During her tenure at P&G, she worked internationally, including a period in Singapore, gaining valuable insights into global beauty trends.

    Commitment to Science and Empowerment

    Gildea is passionate about merging scientific expertise with consumer-focused solutions. Her leadership will drive innovation to meet evolving beauty needs, ensuring Mary Kay continues to offer products rooted in cutting-edge research.

    “Mary Kay was founded with the mission to enrich women’s lives through science-backed beauty solutions. I firmly believe that combining brand and scientific excellence is key to meeting the needs of today’s consumers. My goal is to foster innovation, inspire our Independent Beauty Consultants, and attract a new generation of beauty enthusiasts,” said Dr. Lucy Gildea.

    Academic Excellence and STEM Advocacy

    Gildea earned her Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, specialising in Cell and Molecular Biology, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases. She also completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Immunology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and the University of Cincinnati. Additionally, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgetown College, Kentucky.

    Beyond her corporate role, Gildea is a dedicated advocate for women and girls in STEM. She serves as a Board Member at Baylor Scott & White Dallas Foundation and as a Board Advisor at Baylor Scott & White Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center.
