RobotPlusPlus, an engineering-driven leader in working-at-height robotic technology, has officially launched its HighMate C20 Cargo Hold Cleaning Robot with live demonstrations at SMM 2024, the world’s largest maritime industry trade fair, held in Hamburg, Germany. This innovative robot is designed to streamline cargo hold cleaning by offering consistent and efficient performance in a variety of sea conditions, reaching up to 95% of the hold’s surface area. By automating the cleaning process, the HighMate C20 also significantly improves safety, eliminating the risks posed to seafarers during manual cleaning at dangerous heights.

At SMM 2024, RobotPlusPlus is presenting the HighMate C20 to a global audience, attracting thousands of visitors from the maritime industry. Located at booth B8-128, the company is demonstrating the robot’s versatile design, which is suitable for use on a wide range of vessels, as well as other advanced solutions for the shipbuilding and repair industries. In addition, RobotPlusPlus’s German strategic partner, MontiPower (booth B5-323), is introducing the co-developed HighMate Prepper robot, designed for tasks such as welding, inspection, and bristle blasting.

    Exceptional Cleaning Performance

The HighMate C20 is equipped with five high-pressure nozzles that operate at 500-bar pressure, enabling a 1-metre cleaning width with 95% surface coverage. This cutting-edge system delivers a cleaning pressure equivalent to 100 times that of a traditional fire hose, capable of cleaning up to 500 square metres per hour. This level of efficiency not only enhances the speed of operations but also guarantees a more thorough clean, improving overall cargo hold conditions.

    Ease of Operation

Despite its advanced capabilities, the HighMate C20 is remarkably user-friendly. Most seafarers can master the robot’s basic functions in just 10 minutes, ensuring swift deployment and minimal downtime. This ease of operation, combined with its powerful cleaning capabilities, positions the HighMate C20 as an essential tool for shipping companies looking to enhance operational efficiency and safety.

    Global Collaboration and Innovation

Through the launch of the HighMate C20 at SMM, RobotPlusPlus is seeking to engage with forward-thinking companies in the maritime industry that share its commitment to driving global shipping advancements. The company believes the HighMate C20 will attract significant interest from those looking to modernise their processes while ensuring the safety of their workforce.

It’s an exciting opportunity to unveil the HighMate C20 at SMM 2024, where global leaders in the maritime industry come together,” said Hua-yang Xu, Founder and CEO of RobotPlusPlus. “This prestigious event presents a unique opportunity for us to not only demonstrate our cutting-edge technology but also to forge new partnerships with like-minded organisations worldwide. At RobotPlusPlus, we remain dedicated to innovation and collaboration within the maritime industry, and we look forward to working with new partners who share our passion for improving global shipping.”

    Advanced Safety and Efficiency

As RobotPlusPlus continues to push the boundaries of robotic technology, the company remains focused on advancing safety and operational efficiency within the maritime sector. By reducing the risks of manual work and ensuring faster, more consistent cleaning processes, the HighMate C20 represents the future of cargo hold maintenance.
