Telkomsel Strengthens Hyper 5G Network in Bali, Deploying 225 Sites to Boost Economic and Tourism Growth

Telkomsel, a frontrunner in 5G innovation in Indonesia, has embarked on a significant expansion of its Hyper 5G network, focusing on Denpasar and Badung in Bali. These regions, renowned for their high internet usage, rapid adoption of 5G devices, and strong MSME potential, will now benefit from uninterrupted, high-speed, low-latency mobile connectivity.

This development is part of Telkomsel’s broader initiative to deliver a comprehensive 5G experience across Indonesia, aimed at accelerating the nation’s digital transformation and economic development. Through this expansion, Telkomsel is solidifying its position as a key player in Indonesia’s digital future, ensuring that the advantages of 5G reach all sectors of society.

    Expanding Coverage for Enhanced Connectivity

“As the digital landscape shifts and customer expectations grow, Telkomsel remains committed to extending its Hyper 5G coverage to critical regions,” said Derrick Heng, Telkomsel’s Marketing Director. “Our mission is to elevate Indonesia’s global profile by reinforcing the strategic importance of tourist destinations, bolstering local tourism, empowering MSMEs, and enhancing the efficiency of public services. We are dedicated to driving national digital transformation and ensuring that cutting-edge technology is accessible to all levels of society, particularly through a strong 5G presence in Bali.”

Heng reiterated Telkomsel’s commitment to staying at the forefront of Indonesia’s telecommunications industry while paving the way for new innovations and growth opportunities. The company is focused on delivering a 5G experience that aligns with global standards, serving both domestic users and international visitors in Bali. To support this goal, Telkomsel has rolled out specialized 5G packages, device bundlings, tourist prepaid cards, and eSIM support for both local and international customers. These offerings are designed to provide a seamless and superior mobile experience for everyone in Bali, ensuring access to top-tier connectivity.

    Strategic Network Expansion in Bali

Indra Mardiatna, Telkomsel’s Network Director, described the strategic approach to the network’s expansion.

Since the inception of our 5G network, we have methodically expanded our coverage, focusing not only on establishing a robust telecommunications framework but also on providing an exceptional user experience that fosters inclusive and sustainable digital development. In South Bali, for example, we have established 225 Hyper 5G sites, including 67 in Denpasar and 136 in Badung, ensuring continuous connectivity along key routes such as Kuta-Canggu, Nusa Dua, and Renon-Sanur.”

Mardiatna pointed out that this expansion represents a significant investment in Bali’s future, addressing the growing demand for dependable and high-speed mobile connectivity. The strategic placement of these 5G sites ensures that critical areas, especially those with high foot traffic and tourism, are well-served.

    Partnership and Continued Expansion

In partnership with Huawei for network solutions, Telkomsel’s expansion in Bali marks a significant achievement in its 5G rollout. The network now spans over 1,000 sites across 56 cities and districts, covering essential areas such as industrial zones, residential communities, international airports, the Nusantara Capital City, and top tourist destinations. Telkomsel is committed to further expanding its 5G coverage across Indonesia, ensuring more regions benefit from this advanced technology. The company’s long-term vision is to create a fully connected Indonesia, where digital innovation fosters economic growth and societal advancement.

Telkomsel’s relentless pursuit of expanding and enhancing its 5G network underscores its commitment to technological leadership in Indonesia. By continually pushing the boundaries of mobile connectivity, Telkomsel is helping to shape the future of communication in Indonesia, making advanced technology accessible to more people and contributing to the country’s digital transformation journey.
