A journey around the globe, a new milestone in history, and an enduring drive to push beyond limits. Alan Roura and Hublot share this relentless pursuit of excellence—constantly redefining the boundaries of performance. Giving everything until the very end, Roura demonstrated extraordinary resilience, navigating through extreme conditions to steer his IMOCA Hublot to the finish line.
This achievement encapsulates what it means to perform under the most demanding conditions: meticulous preparation, mental and physical endurance, and the ability to adapt at every moment. The 2024-2025 edition of the Vendée Globe reaffirmed this once more, with unpredictable weather shifts, technical hurdles, and formidable natural forces. Even with years of experience, every race demands a fresh approach, a reinvention of strategies, and an acceptance that challenges are never fully conquered—whether in watchmaking or ocean racing.
The Swiss Flag Crosses the Finish Line Once Again
On Monday, 3rd February 2025, at precisely 12:57:48, Alan Roura crossed the finish line of the 2024-2025 Vendée Globe, securing 18th place. Hublot’s DNA: Embracing the Extreme
Hublot does not celebrate victories alone but also the relentless journey towards them. Just as each Hublot timepiece is a result of ambition, innovation, and an unceasing quest for perfection, Roura’s achievement represents a triumph of dedication, perseverance, and an unbreakable spirit. The finish line is the ultimate milestone, but behind every success lies years of research, preparation, experience, and an insatiable drive to push further—qualities that unite the Swiss watchmaker and the Swiss sailor.
Vendée Globe and Alan Roura: A Journey of Tenacity
Since departing Les Sables-d’Olonne on 10th November 2024, Roura has faced relentless challenges, including sudden weather shifts, energy shortages, sail and rudder damage, and the unforgiving conditions of the Southern Ocean.
