Marking a Year of the Green Alliance

LiuGong (000528.SZ) continues to lead in sustainability, celebrating the first anniversary of its transformative Green Alliance initiative. Established in late 2023, the alliance demonstrates LiuGong’s dedication to environmental stewardship and social responsibility by forging collaborations with clients, distributors, and non-profit organisations. A portion of the revenue from LiuGong’s electric products is allocated to philanthropic initiatives, ensuring meaningful contributions to global sustainability.

In May 2024, the Green Alliance achieved a significant milestone by launching a water well charity project in South Africa. This project also introduced Africa’s first electric earth-moving machinery, highlighting LiuGong’s innovative approach. By August, the project’s first phase was completed in Mabeskraal, featuring a 150-metre-deep well equipped with a solar-powered pump. The well now provides clean water to over 25,000 households, reflecting LiuGong’s commitment to impactful, long-term solutions.

    Driving Electrification and Green Manufacturing

LiuGong’s Electrification Initiative exemplifies its role as a pioneer in green intelligent manufacturing. Through advanced research, dedicated facilities, and industrial collaborations, the company is driving forward product electrification and sustainable industrial ecosystems.

Currently, LiuGong’s electric product line spans 11 categories, offering diverse power solutions for various industries. To date, over 6,500 electric units have been sold globally, reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 330,000 tons. This achievement is equivalent to planting 18 million trees, underscoring the significant environmental benefits of electrification.

Throughout 2023, LiuGong consistently reported that over 10% of its monthly international sales were electric products. These efforts have significantly reduced carbon footprints, inspired further investments, and bolstered global transitions toward sustainable practices. The company is also advancing independent development with facilities like a newly completed battery pack factory and energy replenishment projects.

LiuGong’s autonomous loaders and rollers, deployed in industries such as mining and highway construction, showcase its expertise in intelligent technology. These solutions not only enhance operational efficiency but also reduce costs, proving the practical advantages of sustainability-focused innovation.

    Commitment to Environmental Management

Environmental management remains at the core of LiuGong’s operations. In 2023, the company invested 41.61 million yuan in lifecycle management, targeting energy conservation and emissions reduction. These efforts ensured compliance with environmental standards, with no reported pollution incidents.

In addition, 27 targeted projects addressed issues such as VOCs and welding fumes, successfully reducing emissions. LiuGong’s photovoltaic initiatives are expected to generate 52 million kWh annually, contributing to its zero-pollution goals. Green culture advocacy and employee training reinforce these efforts, promoting environmental awareness across all levels of the organisation.

    Building a Sustainable Supply Chain

LiuGong integrates sustainability into its supply chain by adopting green procurement practices and prioritising eco-friendly materials. From reducing single-use packaging to implementing energy-efficient policies, the company ensures sustainability is embedded in every step.

The SRM digital platform has saved 4.3 tons of paper annually, while a cloud-based collaborative tool supports real-time interaction with over 1,500 suppliers, boosting efficiency and aligning with sustainability goals.

    Continuing the Mission

LiuGong plans to broaden its Green Alliance efforts, with upcoming projects like building a second water well in the Gambia. These steps reaffirm LiuGong’s commitment to integrating sustainability into its business practices and global impact initiatives.
