    Labour Sam Carling, A 22-year-old elected as an MP with a razor-thin majority expressed that he does not want his age to be the focal point as he heads to Westminster.

    Labour’s Sam Carling is poised to become the “baby of the House” – the unofficial title for the youngest member of the House of Commons.

    The Cambridge University science graduate student defeated veteran Conservative MP Shailesh Vara by a mere 39 votes.

    Mr. Carling described his victory as a “political earthquake” and expressed his hope that more young people will be encouraged.
